Position Summary

The Design Studio Manager will apply the principles of management to manage the designers and supervise day-to-day activities of the department, develop and implement successful design strategies while collaborating on projects with the designers and marketing department, delegate tasks and check projects, reporting for quality and consistency.

Job Duties
  • Ensure a five-star client experience
  • Supervise the designers and the design process
  • Manage design process from start to finish
  • Manage the workflow of the designers to ensure client selections are made timely
  • Regular meetings with the designers to ensure development
  • Regular meetings with the designers to get client meeting feedback
  • Assist designers with communicating with clients, when necessary, to resolve issues
  • Review all client selection paperwork (addendums, specification sheets, drawings, etc)
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures
  • Foster an environment of open communication with all staff to ensure positive employee morale, effective conflict resolution and upward flow of creative ideas
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining schedules to meet start and closing dates
  • Maintain showroom material inventory
  • Continuous inspiration meetings with designers to ensure there is constant fresh thinking and innovation
  • Staying up to date with design trends, product lines, and related technology
  • Establish relationships with suppliers and vendors of products sold
  • Assist designers in communications with suppliers and vendors when issues arise for resolution
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining client meeting and addendum completion
  • Create and maintain continuous development programs for designers
  • Report Regularly to the VP of Operations on lot status
  • All other Ad hoc projects
Job Experience
  • BA in Interior Design, preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing a team of Interior Designers
  • Structured, disciplined, and supportive leadership style
  • Understanding of the interior design process and luxury home building processes
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to incorporate new technology
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – always willing to evolve and elevate
  • Flexible and open to change
  • Experience with ordering materials from manufacturers
  • Experience with design factors including space planning, layout and use of appliances, and color coordination
  • Must have advanced knowledge of industry related programs and Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing project budgets and schedules
  • First rate selling and closing skills with a proven track record
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous, time sensitive projects with a positive attitude
  • Dependable, reliable, self-motivated and have a consistent work quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop or other rendering software a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook / Word / Excel) required
  • Experience with DocuSign, Envision or other design center selection options program preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Advanced communication skills, interpersonal skills, professional appearance, and dependable vehicle are required.
